Misdemeanors

Misdemeanors are less serious criminal offenses, such as trespassing, vandalism, shoplifting and drug possession.  While they are considered minor, they can still have a lasting impact on your life, such as your ability to find or keep employment. It is important to contact an experienced criminal defense attorney right away to protect your rights.

Felonies

Hathaway Holland attorneys have handled all types of felony cases, including robberies, burglaries, assaults, weapons offenses, vehicle theft, and murder. Felony charges can result in a prison sentence, even if it's your first offense, so it is essential to have an experienced attorney assist you through every step of your case. If you or your family member has been arrested for a felony in Washington State, remain calm and call an attorney at Hathaway Holland as soon as possible.

DUI

If you have been charged with a DUI, we can help you through the process. A DUI offense will affect your license and may have other collateral consequences. An experienced defense attorney is essential to making sure you get the best result possible.

Deferred Prosecution

If you are charged with a traffic infraction, misdemeanor, or gross misdemeanor, we may be able to petition the court for deferred prosecution if your conduct was the result of or caused by substance use disorders, mental illness, or domestic violence behavior problems for which you are in need of treatment. We have experience assisting clients through the process of getting into treatment and presenting favorable progress to the court.

Stipulated Order of Continuance

A stipulated order of continuance is available in some domestic violence cases. In an SOC, you agree to complete a structured domestic violence treatment program and other conditions in return for eventual dismissal of the charge. To take advantage of this option, you are required to waive your right to a speedy trial and to agree to submit the case on the basis of the police reports if the conditions are not satisfied.

Civil Compromise

In cases where a person's property was damaged due to your actions, we may be able to help you get your case dismissed through civil compromise. In a civil compromise, you agree to pay for any damages or losses. In exchange, your charges are dismissed.

WHEN YOU ARE ARRESTED ON A CRIMINAL CHARGE, NO MATTER THE SEVERITY, YOUR FREEDOM IS ON THE LINE. CALL HATHAWAY HOLLAND SO WE CAN STAND BY YOUR SIDE FROM YOUR VERY FIRST COURT APPEARANCE.
